After releasing his first single, “Down on the Streets,” on April 25, 2008, Sandhy Sondoro debuted his album “Why Don’t We.” He gained international attention by placing 8th at the 2009 New Wave International Contest of Young Pop Singers in Jūrmala, Latvia, earning near-perfect scores from the judges. His global recognition grew when legendary songwriter Diane Warren invited him to perform at the Palladium Theatre in Hollywood for a PBS special alongside world-renowned artists. In August 2008, he was awarded the Satya Lencana Karya Satya Medal of Honor by the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin for his international achievements.
